Wall Street 2 Release Delayed
Wall Street 2 Release Delayed – 20th Century Fox has decided to push back the release date of Money Never Sleeps, the sequel to popular 80s flick Wall Street, from its anticipated April 23rd date to September 24th, Variety has reported.
It is believed that the studio is delaying the release so it can be included in the Cannes Film Festival that runs from May 12-23. 20th Century Fox also reportedly believes a September release would give the film more Oscar buzz ahead of next year’s ceremony.
Money Never Sleeps will see the return of Michael Douglas’ iconic “Greed is Good” Gordon Gekko character. The year is 2008 and the banker has been released from jail after 23 years in the slammer. In his reincarnation, Gekko tries to warn the world about the impending financial crisis.
Also back is Charlie Sheen as “Bud Fox” as well as Shia LaBeouf, Susan Sarandon and Carey Mulligan, who was up for a Best Actress award at this year’s Oscars for her role in “An Education.”
