Vaughn Chipeur

Alberta figure skater Vaughn Chipeur had some trouble with his routine in the men’s short program tonight at the Winter Olympics and sits well back of leader Evgeni Plushenko of Russia.
Chipeur stumbled on his first jump and again later and finished with a mark of just 57.22.
Plushenko got his Vancouver performance off to a strong start with a mark of 90.85 and stands in first place after eight skaters.
Patrick Chan of Toronto will skate later tonight as he attempts to land an Olympic medal.
