Me and my wife bought a house oct 31 last year and someone at my church told me that they are doing something like with the first time home buyers for $8000 but instead its $6000. Is this true. This lady goes to my church and she said as long as you bought a house in the last 5 years you are eligble for it and I’ve bought two. So can someone clarify this for me whether its true or not.

Open Question: Will the $8,000 tax credit apply to me?

Published on January 11, 2010 by Technology Slice

I am from MI and got a job in NJ. I purchased a home in MI and everything is in my name. My mother got laid off and i am letting her stay at the MI home rent free.

I visit the MI residence every month, and i consider it my primary residence, but i do work and rent in NJ.

I was just curious if there would be any problems with getting the tax credit? I bought the MI home in August.

Thanks!
