My mom got married in Dec to a man that lost his spouse earlier in the year. They plan on filing Married Filing Joint but have questions as to how to file for his deceased wife. I would think that the deceased wife could file Married Filing Separate (With his name as spouse as standard) since that was her status as of her date of death. Will this interfere with him and my mom filing MFJ since his name will be on both papers?

Russell Hantz was on the last season of survivor, Survivor: Samoa, and he is also on Survior: Heroes vs. Villians.
Does this mean he filmed Heroes vs. Villians before Samoa aired?
Did he film both before last season’s reunion show?
