You are a desktop support technician at a computer store, and a customer approaches you with a laptop computer he purchased six months ago. The computer shipped with Windows Vista home Basic installed, and the customer would like to use the computer to log on to a Windows domain at his office. He knows that he cannot do this with Windows Vista Home Basic, and would like you to upgrade the computer to Windows Vista Business, while preserving existing data. Explain in detail (step-by-step) the procedure you would have to use to fulfill the customer’s request. Your steps should be clear and detailed enough to be used by anybody other than you to accomplish the customer's request.

The owner of my rental town-home in Utah is in a dispute with the property management company that I leased from. They have withheld my paid rent from him for a couple months, for what reasons I don't know. He's also upset with them for charging him on repairs upon my move-in, thinking they should have been charged to the previous tenant. BTW, the place had been vacant for over six months prior to my lease. The owner has called me and also written a couple letters to me this past month urging me to pay rent directly to him starting January 2010, and has given me a copy of his termination letter that he sent to the PM company dated December 18. I don't know if his termination is legally valid or how it affects me as a renter. Without authorization from the PM company am I legally obligated to work with the owner at this point?

Other info: My lease runs through September 2010 and I sure don't want to move or get entangled in their dispute. At one point he had threatened me with eviction on the phone if I didn't submit payment directly to him, but so far I am still paying the PM company.

So I had to break my one year lease six months early (A LOT-- I know) but my job was transferred (and it wasn't driving distance) and it is a good paying job so with this economy I couldn't just not accept the transfer...

PLUS-- I know the law (at least somewhat) and it states that if you break your lease and at any point in the remaining months you have on your lease someone rents the unit.. they can only charge you for when it was vacant.. they also have to make good faith efforts (as well as I) to rerent it...

well the manager at the apartment offered me a deal.. she said they would not send me to collections for the remaining amount left on my lease but they would keep my FULL security deposit..

I told them I did not want to take it because I have a coworker who still lives near my old apartment who is willing to rent my apartment out next month (when her lease is up)

My rent is $975... so technically assuming she still rents out my unit-- I would only owe one month... so them keeping my security deposit (of $2350) would be foolish..

well it has been two weeks since I have moved out and I have tried to call and email the manager many times... and have heard nothing...

Is there any way she can keep my full security deposit even if I tell her to send me to collections (it is in a HIGH DEMAND area so I know that it will be rented out no matter what very soon)

We have three cats. Our oldest cat is 6, the next youngest is 5 and the youngest is 2. (All are neutered upt on shots, strictly indoor cats)

Our youngest cat was given to us by a coworker who asked us to watch him for her while she moved. Two weeks later she told us she didn't want him. He was getting along with the other 2 cats so we decided to keep him. He was about 3 months old.

Six months ago my husband was transferred from the Midwest to California. We brought all of the cats with us when we moved. Since the move, the youngest cat has become extremely posessive of our bed. All three cats used to come and go throughout the night, but now the youngest won't let them on the bed. He growls and hisses and outright attacks them if they get on the bed. We decided that to solve this we wouldn't allow him in the bedroom at night. Now he's beginning to become posessive of other areas of the house -- window sills, the cat towers, even his food.

I'm beginning to wonder if he needs to be an only cat. I love him dearly but I don't want him attacking/acting hostile towards the other cats either. Can anyone help us overcome this behavior?
