well, when i get older i want make the world accept larger women (size 12 and up)..(not that 12 is large, seriously, but, yeah) um, you know how on most clothing ads they have super skinny or incredibly fit women on there? well, i want to do something to make girls stop trying to lose weight all of the time when its unnecessary.
my words are kind of unclear..hmm lets see if i can fix this..
i saw that a survey showed 80% of 4th grade girls were already on diets struggling to be stick thin, or just very skinny. A lot of people commit suicide because they are “too fat” and in their mind they are ugly because they aren’t thin. mostly people who commit suicide are female teens. but boys also feel pressure to be muscular like male models, and struggle the same difficulties as girls trying to be thin. someone on youtube did a video on how young people (under 12) viewed what a perfect body is and how they wanted look when they got older, first an 11 year old girl was asked to choose between three women to look like, angelina jolie, queen latifa and marilyn monroe. she chose angelina jolie, the women asked why and the girl said because angelina was the skinniest.
then, they brought in a 12 year old boy and asked which man he wanted to look like: mr. bean, brad pitt, or adam sandler. he chose brad pitt.
what im saying is, when i grow up i just want to somehow destroy the ideas of “thin is in” and “10 ways to fit into a size 2″, just stuff like that. the media makes money off of people, they dont care how bad they make some girls (and boys) feel about how their body should look. its not right at all.
obesity is not healthy and weighing 50 pounds isnt either. but of the two, girls would rather be 50 pounds. i just want to have some kind of book or something like that, that has comforting things. and to run ads featuring medium and larger women. i just want to get rid of the idea that anorexia is so cool.
