So I’m planning on tearing down my aquarium and starting over because my plants are looking terrible and I am not happy with the gravel that I have in there now.
When I first got the aquarium, a Lido 120 (120 liters, square shaped), I was walking around the pet store with a large bag of aquarium fertilizing substrate. The woman told me that things like that would work well in aquariums smaller than 20 gallons but for mine, it wouldn’t. She told me that I would need some silly under substrate heater for it to even work.
But if I’m heating the aquarium already (at about 78F), then why would I even need that?
Any tips and advice would be most beneficial, thank you!

i have a 60 gallon tank. i just did a water change and cleaned up the tank because supposedly the tank was contaminated due to the dirty gravel but everythings good now. so tomorrow im going to buy two small size oscars which are like 2 inches long, i have seen oscars that grow up to a foot …my question is how long does it take for a oscar to grow a inch i have heard that it can actually take a month to a year….. my other question is what fish are able to live in the same tank as the oscars
