Solar Powered Plane Takes Flight – Passengers could soon be travelling around the world in solar-powered planes after a plane powered only by the sun completed a successful test flight. The Solar Impulse, part of a $82 million project, reached a height of 3200ft and stayed airborne for an hour before touching down to applause.
