Do you think I am too old to get braces?

I am 25 years old and I wanted to get my teeth fixed. I went to my dentist about getting some lumineers and he said that my teeth is too spaced out to get them and they would look to big and bulky. Of course I was pissed, and then he tells me to get my teeth fixed, i would need to get braces. I mean those real metal like Ugly Betty braces!! I cant even get the invisible kinds!! People said that my teeth is not that bad, but I want to feel comfortable when I smile. I mean, I guess it is worth the 14 months of wearing them…….

I am just afraid that people would think I am to old for braces
