Space Shuttle Discovery Comes Home
Space Shuttle Discovery Comes Home – The space shuttle Discovery safely returned to Earth after bad weather caused NASA Mission Control to postpone the shuttle’s landing three times.
Discovery and its seven astronauts landed at Florida’s Kennedy Space Center runway 33.
NASA abandoned an earlier touchdown due to rain and fog.
The shuttle was originally due to land in Florida on Monday.
According to NASA’s Twitter page, Discovery landed after a journey of 238 orbits around Earth and more than 6.2 million miles.
During the mission, Discovery and its crew delivered approximately eight tonnes of cargo, including spare bunks for the occupants of the space station, a large tank of ammonia coolant and seven racks filled with science experiments.
