Reversing Weight Gain
In most developed countries, most men and women are either over weight, or obese. This is largely due to the unhealthy lifestyles they live. High calorie, high fat diets, large amounts of food and a very sedentary lifestyle all help people gain large amounts of fat.
How did we get here? Over time, due to technological advances, we do less and less physcial exercise every day. When we want to go somewhere we jump in the car. We work in offices where our day consists of sitting in front of a computer for 8 hours. It’s easier to buy fast food rather than make a real meal at home. Meal portions have increased more and more. And the list goes on.
Now authorities are trying to reverse the unhealthy lifestyles of millions. Not only does obesity affect the health and lives of those that are over weight, it also puts a massive burden on the health system and consequently the economy. The public health system is being strained by ailments that are a direct result of obesity. Ambulances need to be modified to be able to carry large patients. As do operating tables.
Lifestyle changes must be made to effect any change. Only the individual can make those changes.
