PS3 or XBOX 360?
Gaming consoles have come a long way since the days of alex the kid, and the original mario kart. Graphics are much more advanced and games themselves have evolved into different adventures. At present there are two gaming consoles worth mentioning. The Playstation 3 and the Microsoft XBOX 360 (I’m not counting the Nintendo Wii as mainstream). Both have their pros and cons depending on what the user wants.
The first thing that stands out with the Playstation 3 is the price. It’s overly expensive. When released in Australia it cost over $1000. Even now the price is hovering around $700. Sony justifies this with the inclusion of a Blu Ray player in the console. A Blu ray player is of no real use to anyone at the moment. Blu Ray movie releases are very limited and scarsely available. It also has very limited backwards compatibility so your PS2 games will be useless.
Gaming wise the Playstation 3 does deliver on graphics and picture resolution. It delivers vivid colors and life-like images.
The XBOX 360 is much cheaper. It cost $500 when released and the price is around $350 at the moment. The graphics are just as good as the Playstation 3. Games however are more limited.
Personally it makes more sense to buy the XBOX 360. But there will always be die hard fans that will stick with their console no matter what the price.
