Pearce Snowboarder
Pearce Snowboarder – Kevin Pearce, an American snowboarder, is still considered by many as a Champion. He may not be able to compete in this current Winter Olympics, but his survival makes him a champion to the hearts of everyone.
Kevin Pearce got injured in snowboarding while executing a trick called the double-cork which he managed to do multiple time before. Misfortune may have struck him that gave way for an accident. Kevin Pearce hit his head on the rim of the half-pipe upon landing and doctors said that if it weren’t for his helmet, he would not have survived.
Kevin Pearce was diagnosed with Tramatic Brain Injury (TBI) and his physical, psychological and emotional recovery will be long and difficult. Pearce’s speech and motor functions were profoundly affected by his injury.
We don’t know if he can still go back to being a snowboarder competitor. His snowboarding career may have died, but he still lives; hence, Kevin Pearce is still a champion.
