New Master Chef Series
New Master Chef Series – The lid has been lifted on the new series of MasterChef with Channel 10 last night revealing the state by state breakdown of the second season’s top 50 contestants.
While an air date for the new series is yet to be released, last night during a launch at the hit series’ Sydney studios the spread of the top 50 contestants was revealed with New South Wales and Victoria leading the charge with 14 contestants each.
South Australia followed with 10 representatives, then Queensland (six contestants), Western Australia (four contestants) and Tasmania which is represented by just two individuals.
Currently Channel 10 is not releasing any information regarding contestants’ identities and won’t reveal the state by state breakdown of the top 24 contestants who go through to the next stage of the top rating contest. However MasterChef judge George Calombaris yesterday told The Daily Telegraph the top 50 face several gruelling challenges in their quest to move forward.
“The calibre of the contestants this season is outstanding and the challenges, which kick off in Top 50 week, are impressive,” Calombaris said.
“They (the contestants) will need to conquer challenges put to them by Matt Moran and Donna Hay, in order to make it through to the Top 24.
“The other judges and I were really proud of series one but are even more proud of series two,” he said.
