New 6.2 Aftershock in Chile – A powerful new 6.2-magnitude aftershock has struck central Chile in the wake of a major 8.8-degree earthquake, a US government agency has reported.

The epicentre of the tremor was 35 kilometres underground and 109 kilometres northeast of the city of Talca, the US Geological Survey said.
