Mum Wins $17 Million Lottery – The woman, aged in her 40s, was informed of her windfall in the $50 million prize pool a short time ago.

She already plans to buy her kids houses and pack the bags and go travelling.

“I am a regular player and play the same numbers each week, but for these big draws I always buy an extra QuickPick entry,” she said.

She said she was off work sick today with a bad cold and was left stunned by the massive win, and is yet to pass on the good news to her family.

“I don’t have any immediate plans and I am not going to rush into any decisions but I will visit my family overseas who I haven’t seen for many years,” she said.

The woman was among three Division 1 winners who scored big in the $51,176,382.87 prize pool.

The winning numbers were 1, 34, 21, 31, 17, 22 and 45. The supplementary numbers were 7 and 40.The Victorian winner splits the division one jackpot three ways with winners in Western Australia and South Australia.

That might be cold comfort to the millions of Australians left cursing their luck when their numbers didn’t turn up.

The monster draw prompted a lunchtime rush on Tatts outlets Victoria-wide yesterday, but it ended prematurely as a problem with Telstra’s network caused systems to crash.

Thousands of punters may have had their multi-million dollar dreams die to technical difficulties..

Customers were advised to buy tickets online after a Telstra fault knocked out machines in Victoria from about 1.40pm until the issue was rectified at 3.22pm.
