Hutaree Christian Group Raided By The FBI – A Christian militia group known as the Hutaree was raided by the FBI on Saturday and Sunday, and at least seven people were arrested, according to The Detroit News. Besides the FBI, the Department of Homeland Security and the Joint Terrorism Task Force were also involved.

The Adrian, Michigan based group’s members claim to be Christian soliders preparing for the arrival and battled with the “anti-Christ.” Some of the people who were arrested are originally from the area.

Sources say helicopters circled the skies on Saturday evening and that FBI agents were stationed throughout the surrounding area. The Detroit News reports that witnesses said it was like a small army had descended on the area.

Reports also indicate that a Hutraree leader was arrested while attending a wake for another Hutaree member who had died of natural causes. Agents raided their homes as well. Raids took place in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana and Illinois.

More detailed information about these cases are “under court seal,” according to Detroit FBI Special Agent Sandra Berchtold (via The Detroit News).
