Floods Hammer Victoria
The worst of the floods are still to come for Victoria with more rain forecast for most of the state.
Saturday and Sunday, thousands were stranded or forced from their homes due to rising flood waters. Residents did have forewarning from the forecasts but many underestimated just how bad it would get.
Even this morning people were being evacuated with preference given to the elderly.
Financial help was on offer from the Victorian government for those that needed it.
Extra police were sent into the rural areas to help flood victims.
In addition to flooding there were also widespread power outages due to strong winds.
