Echuca Residents Want Hospital

Echuca Residents Want Hospital – Echuca residents have launched an advertising campaign to pressure the Victorian Government to fund a new hospital in the state budget.

A full-page ad in a local paper says the Echuca hospital is ‘buggered’ and calls on the health minister to urgently fund a new facility.

The marketing campaign has been driven and funded by the community, concerned about the ageing infrastructure, including wards that are 70-years-old.

Spokesman Simon Latchford says the region has been crying out for a new hospital for years.

“We feel that we have an issue. We feel it’s time for us, we desperately need a hospital,” he said.

“We’re not asking for a Ferari. We’re asking for a hospital.”
