Cristiano Ronaldo
Cristiano Ronaldo – Cristiano Ronaldo was visibly angry after his Real Madrid team fell 1-0 at Stade Gerland in the Champions League. He has since declared that his team will come back to beat Lyon in the second leg at the Bernabeu and will progress to the next round of the tournament’s knockout stages.
In statements reported by Marca, the Portuguese was curt in his post-match comments and refused to make any excuses for los Blancos’ shortcomings. “There are no excuses: not the condition of the pitch, not anything. We played a poor match and Lyon were better.”
However, CR9 declared that his team will defeat the French side in the return leg on March 10 at the Santiago Bernabeu and progress to the next round of the knockout stage, citing his previous experience in England for turning around a poor first leg result. “When I played at Manchester United we lost first legs many times and still progressed. We will be sure to come back from this.
