Following the fashion designer’s tragic death, a British coroner’s official has told an inquest that McQueen had hanged himself and died from asphyxiation and hanging. This statement confirmed the rumors that McQueen had committed suicide.

At about 10:30 a.m. last Thursday, McQueen’s body was found hanging by his housekeeper at his home on Green Street, London, just the day before his mother’s funeral. The officials said they did not find any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and suspected no malice.

Officials also stated that a suicide note was left by the designer. However, the content of the note was not released to public.

In the days prior to his death, McQueen, 40, had been mentioning in his Twitter postings about his difficulties in coping with the loss of his mother. McQueen’s friends also mentioned the possibility of he was being under pressure concerning the show for his new collection in Paris next month.
